Yuuzhan Vong Priest

This is an impression of an Yuuzhan Vong priest. For those not in the know, the Yuuzhan Vong are the nemesis in the new Star Wars novel "Vector Prime".

Quick sketches of characters and creatures.

Here's some quick sketches I did a while ago to test my drawing speed as well as my ability to come up with for new characters.

Photobucket
This mouth-within-a-mouth creature is a homage to Giger's Alien and the Predator. The bladed tail, armour scales and six legs adds to the menace.

eagle head creature
This creature is probably inspired by some religious relic I guess.

orge
Since all orcs look similar one way or another I'll just let him carry a burden for differentiation sake.

telepathic sorcerer
This is my rendition of a telepathic sorcerer from some planet. The feelers on his forehead says it all.

Babe in color

My first attempt in inking from Photoshop.

Spend the entire day inking this hot babe with Photoshop CS4. Drawn in Sketchbook Pro and exported to Photoshop via PSD export. In my opinion Sketchbook Pro gives me the best feel and response when pencilling.

Really need to work on the ear. Despite doodling for donkey years. I'm still having difficulty drawing and inking it. A terrible shame I know....

Pretty Women

Sorry for the lack of updates. Been doing some research on human anatomy and getting inspiration from many different concept art sites. Also been watching videos of artists such as Jason Chan on how he inks his illustrations (which is what I'm really weak at).

Here's another impromptu sketch of two pretty women. Done in about 30 minutes each with Sketchbook Pro. This is one of those few rare moments where I got it right the first time.

Vampire Creature

This is an impression of a vampiric creature with snake-like tongues. Might draw a full body version later. Hope you like it.

Yoda again

Another sketch of Yoda done in Sketchbook Pro. Was having a mental block and couldn't come up with any new creature so randomly just doodle till the thought of drawing another Yoda surfaced.

Icthyocentaur

“The Icthyocentaur has the torso, arms and head of a human, the tail of a dolphin and the forelegs of a horse or lion. This is the aquatic version of a centaur“.

I've came up with this creature for the "Creature Feature of February" in Wetcanvas.

What do you think of it ?

Yoda

My favourite little green friend from a galaxy far, far away. I love this character so much and I drew him regularly during my secondary school days. Here I drew him without any reference to pictures because Yoda is simply so deeply entrenched in my head.

About Me.

Hi, and welcome to my blog.

I have been a desktop video engineer for a better part of my working life till I was unceremoniously laid off while having a holiday late last year. Since then, I have been hoping to land myself back in the creative circle and hopefully this blog will meet that objective.

I have been doodling from young and while my skill are above average in my humble opinion, it has turned really rusty due to lack of practice. This is partly because of my work which is technical in nature, which give me precious little time to finesse my creativity. Hopefully, those nifty fingers of mine will once again work in sync with my puny little brain.

My interest lies in character and creature design and that's where I will be focusing in this blog. I also have the unique love for drawing women with weapons. I draw my inspiration greatly from renowned artists such as Ralph MacQuarrie, Adam Hughes, Jason Chan and Alex Ross.

I hope you will enjoy my illustrations as much as I enjoy creating them.
